Snoring Tops List of Bedtime Annoyance in Dreams Study

16% of men secretly crave a three-in-a-bed with partner and teddy bear and 1 in 10 of surveyors would rather share a bed with a pet than a partner

According to a new study, millions of Britons are losing very important hours of shut-eye due to their partner snoring so loud, they can’t sleep. Despite the fact that nearly 44 percent of all the responders and participants that say they themselves snore, the survey revealed ten percent of UK couples would rather share their bed with a pet over their other half.

The survey, from the beds store Dreams, also revealed that Londoners are the biggest in-bed workaholics with almost a third (32 per cent) checking emails in bed.

One in ten of the participants say they spend most of their time in bed with their partner bickering about mother-in-laws, where to go for vacation, family gossip and who to visit during the holiday seasons. Still, more than half of Brit couples say they enjoy their quality time spent in bed with their significant other.

Making important life decisions is also a popular bedtime activity, with one in 10 discussing whether to start a family and 16 percent talking about marriage and future wedding plans.

Emma Kinney, a psychologist in London says: “When it comes to bed behaviour behind closed doors, it would seem we as a nation have many aggravating habits. It’s interesting to see that despite these bedtime irritants, the bed is still considered an important place for couples to bond and make life changing decisions together.”

The other top 10 bedtime annoyances included hogging the bed, sleeping naked, passing wind, bad morning breath, letting pets into bed, sleep talking, sweating and a partner sneaking over into the other side of the bed. The most common bedtime activities included reading a book, checking email, watching tv and playing on mobile devices, talking to partner about their day, and making plans for the next few days.
