I thought about the TrailTrike © concept, when I was managing the ‘Spyder‘ project for BRP. Our primary objective, was to enter the ‘on road’ market with a certified motorcycle and that’s what the team engineered and focused on. I am certain that a lot of ‘Powersports’ enthusiasts are dreaming of riding a really cool ‘Enduro type’ 3WD bike and this is what the TrailTrike is all about.
The vehicle is configured like a 3 wheeled enduro bike. It’s designed to ride on asphalt, dirt roads and trails. It could be powered by a new 2-Stroke Direct Injection Engine equipped with two output shafts (Front and Rear) providing power to all 3 wheels via a CVT transmission. A smart differential is bolted between the front disc brakes which are mounted inboard to increase the response time of the suspension and concentrate the mass around the CG. The TrailTrike is equipped with a carving seat and it also uses an intelligent stability system programmed for road and trail operations.
