Houston, TX, USA (July 21, 2014) - (HPT Media) -- Last week July 12th and 13th, Hot Topic Author of The Stones that Built Me Strong and Founder of The S.W.V. Foundation, Alissa Jones kicked off her double book signing weekend at Tha' Party Room and Lounge. Fans and supporters began arriving between 8p.m. and 9p.m. to a cool atmosphere of feel-good music, cool beverages and light palette pleasers.

This was no average book signing. The author didn't stay seated at her table, while the crowd fussed to congregate around her. Alissa Jones personally greeted just about everyone in the room. The crowd did 'The Wobble' and drinks flowed like water. Conference speaker, Shantera Chatman showed up and supported Alissa looking very cool and relaxed. It was a celebration.

Throughout the evening, about every 10 minutes or so, one appreciated the glimpses of Alissa snugged in a corner with a young woman as she personally engaged with her. Imagine the heartfelt wisdom being imparted from Alissa.

Half way into the party, the author of the hour was introduced to her fans. Alissa Jones spoke for approximately 12 minutes about her personal survivor story and platform. At the end of her spiel, there was a split second of warm silence. The crowd digested her. One woman said, "I just have to hug her." Minutes later that same woman was in a tearful embrace with Alissa, as she wrapped her arms around her - Beautiful.

On Sunday the 13th, fans and supporters headed on over to Tinker Cutz Barber Shop to meet and greet Alissa Jones and her family. Alissa, her husband Robbin and their children were a compliment to all families. Their unified front represented the unified approach toward eradicating violence against women.

Conference speaker, Sherryl Roberts appeared in support of her friend Alissa. Their kindred spirits were apparent as the giggled and engaged with one another. It's a fabulous thing to witness iron sharpening iron. Inspiration is fueled and creativity starts to manifest. About 20 minutes after Sherryl arrived, her and Alissa said, "Let's make a video!" Quickly they ushered for the photographer to come help them as they played off each other's personality to talk about the upcoming Voice Your Invisible Wounds Conference. It was cute!

The environment was an engagement with the story and platform The S.W.V. Foundation. When asked about the surplus of non-profits established for women, one supporter said, "I think it is a wonderful thing. [Every non-profit established is] an opportunity to help women who have gone through it [abuse]. There should be more organizations like that [The S.W.V. Foundation] [Allissa Jones] She spilled out her heart and soul. I think it is a wonderful thing."

All in all the book signing weekend brought about $300 dollars' worth of books signed and sold, and at least a hundred lives were touched by the heart of Alissa Jones.

Onward Alissa Jones!
