Platinum VIP Preview to Benefit Parrish Art Museum & Southampton Hospital
Southampton, New York (July 1, 2014) - Art Southampton, the leading international contemporary & modern art fair and marketplace for acquiring the finest investment quality works of art available in the Hamptons returns at the height of the social and cultural season for its third year July 24-28, 2014. The fair features a carefully selected group of over 80 international art galleries with a strong focus on works from the 20th and 21st centuries including paintings, photography, prints, drawings, design, video art, sculpture and indoor and outdoor curated projects of the highest quality. The fair kicks off with a Platinum VIP Preview on Thursday, July 24.
Presented by Art Miami LLC, Art Southampton is the season’s most acclaimed art fair representing the unique convergence of world class art complimented by leading luxury purveyors: precious gems from GRAFF Diamonds, exotic automobiles from Maserati, Ruinart Champagne, magnificent homes offered by Saunders & Associates and the elegant Maserati VIP Lounge curated by Luxe Interiors + Design and designed by Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams.
Sponsored by GRAFF Diamonds, Ruinart Champagne, Maserati North America, Saunders & Associates, and Luxe Interiors + Design, the VIP Preview benefiting the Parrish Art Museum and Southampton Hospital will be a two-tiered evening, providing exclusive early access for Platinum VIP cardholders on July 24th from 6PM-7:30PM and includes champagne and hors d'oeuvres. The preview will continue for all VIP cardholders from 7:30PM-10PM.
The fairwill take place in a spectacular 100,000-square-foot pavilion on the sprawling 18-acre estate behind the Southampton Elks Lodge adjacent to the Southampton Golf Club located directly off Route 27 A. The location of the Art Southampton pavilion provides convenient access for residents and collectors on Long Island, the greater New York and Tri-State area, who visit the Hamptons during the summer.

Once again Art Southampton has partnered with the New York Academy of Art, the country’s preeminent school of figurative painting, drawing and sculpture. The Academy will present an exhibition curated by renowned artist John Alexander, who brings a unique sensibility to this group show of remarkably talented Academy artists. A portion of sales will go directly to scholarships for Academy students.
Continuing its commitment to engaging the community in meaningful and informative dialogue, Art Southampton has collaborated with One Art Nation to offer The Art Symposium which brings together leading opinion leaders and industry experts to speak on a range of topics covering everything from the current structure of the art market to talks on succession planning, integrated art education programs collecting and protecting unusual art and art appraisal.
Art Fairy, the ultimate art learning experience for children and adults, will host daily tours at Art Southampton making art viewing fun. Art Fairy combines engaging art historical commentary and hands-on activities for all members of the family.
Art Southampton will host a number of special events including:
- Special brunch for the Parrish Art Museum Acquisition Committee and Mid-Summer Party Gala Chairs in the Maserati VIP lounge
- Book signing with Eric Holubow author of Abandoned: America's Vanishing Landscape hosted by Hexton Modern and Contemporary in their booth
- New York Academy of Art president David Kratz and John Alexander will host a cocktail reception for collectors, patrons and Academy artists
Hyperallergic and Art Southampton will host a Young Contemporaries Art Afternoon.
