KITTEN RESCUE GROUP LOOKING TO BUY MEDICAL LASER

San Francisco, CA – Saving Grace Rescue, a non-profit group that rescues underage, injured and/or special needs kittens, is currently trying to raise funds to purchase a portable, hand-held low-level laser.

About four months ago, Saving Grace Rescue took in a four-week old kitten named Stockton. Stockton had experienced severe blunt trauma to her spine and could not use her hind legs when she first arrived. A generous grant from Scout’s Fund allowed Stockton to begin intensive physical therapy in San Mateo, CA. This therapy included regular low-level laser treatments. Today, Stockton’s health has improved dramatically. She has started using her hind legs, has shown significant muscle development, and her pain is virtually non-existent.

Unfortunately, Stockton’s grant is nearing an end. Saving Grace Rescue is now trying to purchase their own laser in order to keep Stockton’s incredible progress moving forward.

However, it’s not just Stockton who would benefit from this incredible piece of medical technology.  These lasers have been shown to be effective for treatment of skin wounds, inflammation, swelling, joint pain, neurological injuries and generalized stress, amongst other maladies.

Low-level laser treatment could make a world of difference, and not just for tiny kittens in need like Stockton. Laser treatment could also help for cats like Gracie, an 18 year old with arthritis, or Joaquin, who has inflamed leg joints.

Low-level laser treatment penetrates tissue to stimulate the regrowth of dead or damaged cells within the body. The result of the treatment is rapid tissue healing and decreased inflammation. These lasers do not heat the tissue, and the treatment is essentially painless for the cats.  Many of Saving Grace Rescue’s kittens have been badly injured, but are still too small to receive pain-killing medication for their injuries. Low-level laser therapy will allow these kittens to receive treatment for their pain in a safe, effective manner.

Saving Grace Rescue is currently in the process of raising funds to buy their own laser. The cost for one of these portable low-level lasers is $12,000. This is a long-term investment that will be used to heal many kittens for years to come.

In an effort to acquire the necessary funding, Saving Grace Rescue has created a page on Indiegogo where people can donate to their cause. Every penny that Saving Grace Rescue receives will go directly towards the purchase of the laser. Any donations the group receives in excess of their $12,000 goal will go towards veterinary bills and supplies for the kittens.
